See You at the Pole

Some might think attending or working for a Christian school where there are no prohibitions on prayer might lessen the impact of “See You at the Pole” day.  Not so.  This morning, Grace students from kindergarten through eighth grade joined parents and staff to acknowledge the blessings which have been bestowed upon them. They prayed for those less fortunate and worshipped the One who makes all things possible.

This morning’s gathering began with Grace’s student choir singing, “It’s me. It’s me. It’s me oh Lord standing in the need of prayer.”  Together everyone stood in need of prayer, but more importantly in support of one another.  There’s no doubt this is the most important lesson our kids will learn today in or out of class.

Next, everyone put their hands on their hearts and pledged allegiance to this great country.  Then silence as the crowd held hands in small groups for prayer. The morning ended with “The Lord’s Prayer.”  This all took place on a Houston Chamber of Commerce weather day, complete with sunshine, blue skies and a cool breeze.  If you’ve ever wondered what God’s love looks like.  Take a moment to go through the photos below.  Take a good look into the faces of our kids.  That’s Grace.
