The School Health Center, directed by a Registered Nurse, provides for the health care needs of the school community. Services offered include immediate care for students who are ill or injured; medication administration; collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and other health providers as needed; the coordination of State-required health screenings, maintenance of student health records, and care for students with chronic health conditions.
Carole Moore, R.N., is in her 16th year as the Grace School Nurse. Mrs. Moore has a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Baylor University and has done graduate work at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston. She is board certified in the specialty of school nursing by the NBCSN and has had over 31 years of nursing experience.
Active in both the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) and the Texas School Nurse Organization (TSNO), Carole is the past chair of the Private and Parochial School Nurses (PPSN), a special interest group of NASN. For ten years she served on the advisory council of Baylor University's Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Carole is the past President of the Texas School Nurses Organization (TSNO), and is the current TSNO Member Services Chair and liaison to private school nurses. She is a contributing author for two school nurse textbooks including: Individualized Healthcare Plans for the School Nurse (2005) and School Nursing: A Comprehensive Text (2006).
In 2008, Carole received the Outstanding Private and Parochial School Nurse Award from the National Association of School Nurses.
