 HAISLN List
The Houston Area Independent School Library Network (HAISLN) is an organization of librarians that collaborate on an annual Recommended Reading List.

Bluebonnet Books
The Texas Library Association compiles a list of 20 recommended books every year and Texas school children, grades three through six, who read a minimum of five titles, vote on their favorite. The winner inevitably becomes a Texas classic.

Lone Star Books
The Texas Library Association compiles a list of 20 recommended books every year for Texas Middle School children.

Caldecott Medal Winners
The Caldecott Medal was named in honor of nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.

Newbery Medal Winners
The Newbery Medal was named for eighteenth-century British bookseller John Newbery. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children to the author who made the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.

2x2 List
The 2x2 Reading List is a new project of the Children's Round Table, a unit of the Texas Library Association. The 2x2 Committee's charge is to produce an annual list of 20 recommended books for children, age two to grade two.

Grace School now has access to all the Reading Counts quizzes available….some 42,000 quizzes! If you want to know if a quiz is available on Reading Counts, or to search the catalog, simply follow these steps:

  1. Go to www.readingcounts.com
  2. Click on Browse the ecatalog on the right hand side.
  3. Search Quick Find by title or author.
  4. Scroll down to see results.

Children might have books at home, which we do not own in the library, that they can read and take quizzes on here at school. Note: This is suggested reading...not the summer reading list provided by Grace School. To find that list, please visit the back-to-school requirements page.
