Welcome to Grace School

At Grace School, we inspire compassionate, thoughtful students who are eager to engage in the world around them. Grace School welcomes applications from students with a wide range of backgrounds, interests, talents and experiences. We admit applicants regardless of religion, gender, nationality, race and ethnic background. Admission decisions are based on a comprehensive assessment of each applicant’s potential to succeed at Grace School.

All families should begin the application process by completing an online inquiry. You can also contact Nicole Humlicek, Director of Admissions, at 713-267-8705 to schedule a private tour of Grace School.

After touring Grace School, complete the Application for Admission and submit the $100 application fee online. You will be prompted to create a username and password to login to the Grace School Admissions Portal.

Primary School (Two year olds through PreK 4)

  • Ages and Stages Questionnaire: Required for all Primary School Applicants. To obtain this document, please email nhumlicek@graceschool.org. Parents, please complete the questionnaire and email the document to nhumlicek@graceschool.org or mail it to Grace School, Attn: Admissions Director.
  • Teacher Recommendation Form: For PreK 3 and PreK 4 applicants only. A teacher recommendation form is required if the applicant has attended a preschool program or an interview with the Head of Primary School or Admissions Director is required. Teacher recommendations must be mailed or emailed directly from your child’s teacher to Grace School, Attn: Director of Admissions or to nhumlicek@graceschool.org.
  • Evaluation: Applicants will be evaluated by Grace School’s Admissions Committee when the application is complete. Notification of acceptance will be sent by mail in the month of March. The deposit and contract (if applicable) are due by April 5, 2017.
  • Applicant Photo: Please submit a picture of your child in the Grace School Admissions portal.

Lower School (Kindergarten through 5th Grade)

  • Report Cards: For first grade through fifth grade applicants. Please upload directly into the Grace School admissions portal.
  • Standardized Test Scores: For fourth and fifth grade applicants only. Please upload directly into the Grace School admissions portal.
  • Admissions Testing: Applicants may register by appointment for their age specific test at a convenient location by calling Education Specialists at (713) 461-7996. Fifth grade applicants will need to register for the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) at a testing location or by registering directly with Education Specialists at (713) 461-7996. Please complete the Education Specialist Questionnaire and take with you to the exam.
  • Grace School VisitA one hour group visit for all Kindergarten applicants is scheduled for February 6, 2017. For grades 1-5, a half day visitation is required. Please call Nicole Humlicek at (713) 267-8705 to set up your child’s visitation day. Lunch will be provided by Grace School.
  • Student and Family Interview: The Head of Lower School or Director of Admissions will interview the applicant and applicant’s family on the day of the student’s scheduled visitation.
  • Applicant Photo: Please submit a picture of your child in the Grace School Admissions portal.

Middle School (Grades 6 through 8)

  • Teacher Recommendation Forms: One Math and one English recommendation from current teachers. Teacher recommendations must be mailed directly from your child’s teacher to Grace School, Attn: Director of Admissions or emailed to nhumlicek@graceschool.org.
  • Report Cards and Standardized Test Scores: Previous two years. Please upload directly into the Grace School admissions portal.
  • Admissions Testing: Applicants will need to register for the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) at a testing location or by registering directly with Education Specialists at (713) 461-7996.
