Admissions FAQ

I am interested in learning more about Grace School. What is my first step?

The best way for you to learn more about Grace School is to schedule a private tour of the Grace School campus with the Director of Admissions, Nicole Humlicek. To schedule a tour, call 713-267-8705 or email nhumlicek@graceschool.org. Before your tour, make sure to complete the online Inquiry Form.

I want to apply to Grace School. What is process for applying?

Start by creating an account for access to Grace School’s Admissions Portal. Next, complete the online application. There are two sections, Applicant and Household Information, and the process takes about twenty minutes to complete. There is a $120 application fee paid online at the time the application is submitted. After the application is processed, the Director of Admissions will contact you for your next steps.

I am applying to Primary School. How do I know what age program to apply for?

If your child will be twenty months by September 1st and will turn two by February 1st, apply for the Twos program. If your child will turn three by February 1st, apply for our Threes program. If your child will be three years old by September 1st, we recommend the Pre-Kindergarten Three program. Students applying for Pre-Kindergarten Four must be four years old by September 1st.

I have completed the online application. What is my next step in the application process for Primary School?

If your child is applying for our Twos and Threes program, your next step is to complete and submit the Ages and Stages Questionnaire. You will receive a hard copy of this questionnaire at the time of your private tour or can request a copy by emailing nhumlicek@graceschool.org. We recommend spending about twenty minutes one night evaluating your child; be honest and don’t hesitate to indicate “sometimes” or “not yet.”

If your child is applying for our Pre-Kindergarten Three and Pre-Kindergarten Fours program, in addition to the Ages and Stages Questionnaire, we require a Teacher Recommendation form be submitted directly by the teacher to the Director of Admissions by mail or by email.

What if this will be my child’s first school experience and we don’t have a teacher to complete the recommendation?

If your child has not previously attended a school, the Teacher Recommendation is not required.

Is admissions testing required for entrance into Primary School?

No, formal admissions testing is not required.

First, determine what method you would like to pay for tuition by using the Tuition Schedule. If you would like to pay in two payments or in nine payments, enroll in FACTS payments.

If you need after school care, enroll your child in our After School Program, GAP or in after school Enrichment Classes.

Next, visit Parker Uniforms to purchase the required school uniforms for Grace School.

Lastly, complete all of the required forms due for the academic year.

How will I get to know Grace School families if I am new to the area or new to Grace School?

Every new family to Grace School is assigned a Gatoraide, a parent who will call and welcome your family to Grace School and then will help your family throughout the year. They typically will arrange a casual “get together” before the start of the year so that your family can meet other new families and current families in your child’s grade level.
